Downtown Enhancement Project
Fort Collins, CO

Neighborhood Livability (Speed Control) Program

Interwest provided engineering support to the City of Fort Collins for the design of numerous intersection improvements. The project included upgrades to Mountain Ave., Mountain & Mason Intersection, left turn lane extensions on College Ave., addition of enhanced crosswalks at four major intersections on College Ave., storm drainage improvements and adherence to new ADA Accessibility Guidelines. The project included state funding and coordination with the Colorado Department of Transportation.

Kechter/Ziegler Roundabout
Fort Collins, CO

Lewis Stein Road Widening Project

Interwest prepared the construction documents for the first Arterial/Arterial Modern Roundabout in Fort Collins. Design included full drainage study, profiles and grading, as well as the relocation of existing irrigation facilities for the New Mercer Canal. Modeling and geometrics of the Roundabout was prepared by City of Fort Collins Staff.

Fort Collins Railroad Crossings
Fort Collins, CO

Fort Collins Railroad Crossing

Interwest staff provided the city of Fort Collins Engineering Department with preliminary horizontal design for five railroad crossings throughout Fort Collins. Interim and ultimate roadway configurations were considered at several sites. This information was then available for PUC permitting and project budgeting. We prepared final construction drawings for two of the crossings.

Harmony Road Corridor Projects

Harmony Road Corridor Project

Interwest designed of the widening and median improvements for several projects on Harmony Road. Two of these projects are improvements related to adjacent commercial developments, which include interim and ultimate plans for widening and median design as well as coordination with CDOT for Access Permits and Access Line revisions. Additionally, we prepared design documents for the city of Fort Collins for approximately 2.5 miles of Harmony Road which had no bicycle lanes. Other responsibilities along the Harmony Road Corridor include the construction staking setup for the Harmony Road and I-25 Interchange Project.

Harmony Bike Lanes

Harmony Bike Lanes

Interwest provided engineering support to the city of Fort Collins for the design of the widening of two miles of Harmony Road to accommodate bike lanes. This project included roadway widening, intersection improvements, utility relocation, and pavement re-striping.

Timberline Road Improvements
Fort Collins, CO

Old Town Elk Grove

Interwest provided the preliminary and final design plans for the Timberline and Drake, Timberline and Prospect intersections, and the widening of Timberline Road to 4-lane arterial standards for approximately 7,000 feet. This $7.5 million project included roadway widening, intersection improvements, signal designs, bridge widening, utility relocations, trail relocation, landscaping and pavement re-striping.
